About Corey Miltimore

Based in Minneapolis, I spend a significant amount of time photographing elsewhere. The uniqueness and magnificence of the American Southwest in particular captured my imagination when I first encountered it years ago. Never diminishing, that fascination has fueled travel to other photographic destinations including international travel from East Asia to Cappadocia, Europe to Patagonia, the South Pacific to the Caucasus and elsewhere - as well as domestically to all 50 U.S. states.

My goal is to capture and present images that are about things, rather than simply of things, with the hope of conveying something of the way the scene made me feel and, ultimately, eliciting feelings in the viewer as well. It has been memorably observed, “There is nothing worse than a brilliant image of a fuzzy concept.” My adjunct take would be that there is nothing worse than an image that fails to educe feeling.
